Spectacular giant gumnut blossoms from the weeping Silver Princess gumtree at my daughters school. The gentle morning light falling on the vibrant red flowers and my stunning Daintree Crackle vase, creating a wonderful contrast between softness and intensity; realism and the almost abstract qualities of the vase, the wildly unique, puffy blooms and the multitude of tiny dots or "anthers". I enjoyed the feeling of movement while painting the shadows and the large cascading gum leaves - another incredible specimen of Australian flora. ❤️
