ABOUT:
I am fascinated with flowering eucalypts. There is beauty not only in the flowers, but in the leaves, buds and gumnuts too.
Here I appreciate the alien-like beauty of a tangled mass of buds - rounded cones covered in a smooth, waxy coating and protected by a cap called an operculum. After blooming, the pollinated flower transforms into a woody fruit known as a gumnut (or capsule) and turns hard, leathery, and brown or grey as it matures. There are two larger gumnuts hidden within this beautiful bunch of buds.
These cuttings came from a Red-Flowering Gum in Ocean Grove. I placed them in my favourite green candle vase and on top of my latest treasure from the local library, enjoying the wonderful shadow and light play on the wall behind. 💚
Painted in oils with love xx
Certificate of Authenticity Included.
(Colours may vary slightly due to individual screen settings and lighting conditions)
Complimentary shipping Australia wide - please allow 1-5 business days for dispatch.
