Inspired by neighbours stunning Bluemoon roses, I planted my own.
These are the first blooms of what would become many. Not as large as my neighbours but still beautiful none the less. I popped them into one of my favourite, thrifted vases so I could capture them in the lovely morning light, then gifted them to my mother.
I enjoyed going a little looser with this piece, with visible brushstrokes and lovely fragments of magenta under-painting peaking through. I also enjoyed the dramatic angles created by the table edge and shadow.
